Suitable for beginner sewers who have basic machine sewing skills. Total beginners must complete our Let's Get Sewing workshop or have a 1:1 sewing machine lesson before signing up to this course.
Learn to make a shift dress to fit, following a pattern.
You will learn how to read a pattern, measure yourself, adjust a pattern to fit your body shape and then cut lay out and cut your fabric.
Whilst sewing your garment together you will learn how to fit a facing or binding, sew darts, set in fitted sleeves, put in an invisible zip, finish of and hem. All with the expert guidance of Sabina who will fill you with confidence and have you smiling all the way!
We will use the Camber Set pattern by Merchant and Mills which we will have at the shop for you to buy at a discounted price of £10 (shop price=£14.50) You will need approx 2.5 metres of a light to medium weight woven fabric
We offer 10% off all fabrics and patterns when you book on the course.
On the first week you will need your pattern, fabric and a set of pins. Sewing machines, dressmaking scissors and any other tools needed are provided in the workshop.
The course is run by our resident seamstress Sabina, who has a wealth of sewing experience that she is ready to share.
