As a young girl Emily used to watch her gran make lace and she was entranced by how beautiful it looked. Ever since, she has been drawn to the creative power of her hands and her imagination. From commissioned quilts to bespoke hareem trousers, from espadrilles to quilted jackets, Emily loves to make and to teach.
She has worked in Bath, Bristol and London teaching sewing workshops and helping to pass on the infectious joy she gets from making.
Free machine embroidery is one of her favorite classes to teach. She says: “there’s something about letting loose and allowing the sewing machine to help you become carefree. It allows you to step outside the constraints of formal drawing and reconnects you with your child-like expression and sense of fun.”
