The Thelma Trousers are a straight leg, high waisted pair of trousers, with a buckle detail at the back.
This pattern is a great way up your sewing skills and create a truly hard-wearing garment. If you have never sewn a fly zip before this is the perfect place to start. The pattern has plenty of pockets and a few interesting seam techniques which you may not have tried before.
The Thelma Trousers are available in UK sizes 6 - 24.
Gather Your Supplies…
Thelma looks great made in heavy weight woven fabrics such as Denim, Twill or Corduroy. Once you have chosen your main fabric you will also need a lightweight cotton for your front pocket bag and a piece of fusible interfacing for your waist band and fly facing. You will need a 15cm metal jean zip for your fly, a metal trouser hook and bar and a 2.5cm wide metal buckle for the back fastening.
Maximum 1.5m wide fabric needed: 1.35m for size 6-10, 1.5m for size 12-16, 1.9m for size 18-24
We recommend this pattern to more ambitious sewers who want to improve their skills.
